Objective
Execute a lofted chip shot to beat a goalkeeper off their line.
Instructions
- 1
Goalkeeper stands 3–4 yards off the line, slightly forward.
- 2
Shooter receives a pass 16 yards from goal, takes one touch, and chips over the advancing keeper.
- 3
Aim for the ball to dip just under the crossbar.
- 4
Take 5 shots then swap with the goalkeeper.
Coaching Points
- ✓ Jab the toe or bottom of the boot under the ball — do not swing through.
- ✓ Short, stabbing contact with a locked ankle creates backspin and height.
- ✓ Commit to the chip early — hesitation leads to a scuffed shot.
Variations
- → Move the goalkeeper further off their line to increase the target window.
- → Add a live keeper who can rush out after the pass is played.
